About Growing Hope:

Since 2003, Growing Hope has worked to improve people’s lives in Ypsilanti through connecting folks to gardening and increasing food access. The organization’s varied efforts to promote the availability of healthy food include regular gardening workshops, a garden membership program, school and summer youth programming, food policy advocacy, and managing two area farmers markets.

What FAIM supported:

FAIM helped support Growing Hope’s long-running Home Vegetable Garden Installation Program, which provides three 4’x4’ raised beds to qualifying low income individuals and families. In addition to garden materials, the program assists participants with resources for garden success through multiple educational workshops and garden support throughout the season. Since 2009, this program has served over 300 low-income families.
